What tint is legal in the UK?
The windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and the front side windows at least 70%, measured through the glass and film together. The rear side windows and rear windscreen have no limit.

How much is car window tinting in Northampton?
At Tinting Brothers it costs from £100 for a 3 door hatchback up to £170 for a large SUV. Saloons are £140 to £160 and estates £160. Send us your registration if you are not sure which body type applies.
Which window film do you use?
OPX NR Elite Duo, made by Opalux and supplied by Stock Films. It is a two-ply, non-metallised and colour stable film that blocks 99% of UV in every shade.
How long does it take to tint car windows?
Most cars are done in under 3 hours. You can wait in our seating area with a coffee while we work.
Can I put my windows down after tinting?
You can open and use your windows straight away. There is no need to wait.
When can I wash my car after tinting?
You can usually wash the car the same day if your doors have window frames. For frameless doors, such as many coupes and convertibles, please wait at least one day.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
It covers peeling and fading. It does not cover damage, such as scratches from sharp or hard objects, because the film sits on the inside of the glass.
Does darker tint keep the car cooler?
A little. With OPX NR Elite Duo, 50% film rejects 29% of the sun's energy and 5% limo rejects 43%. Darker film also cuts more glare: 43% at 50% and 94% at 5%. Every shade blocks 99% of UV.
Can you tint over factory privacy glass?
Yes. We can tint over factory tinted windows.
Do you remove old window tint?
Yes. The price depends on the car, the quality and age of the old film, and how many windows need clearing, so we price each car individually.
Can I tint my front windows?
The front side windows must let through at least 70% of light, measured through the glass and the film together, and the windscreen at least 75%. Factory glass already blocks some light, so the front windows have very little room for film. The rear side windows and rear screen have no limit.
How dark can my rear windows go?
As dark as you like. UK law sets no limit on the rear side windows or the rear screen, so 5% limo tint is legal there.
